Northeast High School student-athlete Daylen Robinson has been named the Hy-Vee High School Athlete of the Week for his outstanding play on the basketball court.
Robinson, a 6-foot-1 senior point guard, led Northeast to a 2-1 record during its Class 5, District 15 run that ended in an 80-74 loss to Central in the championship game.
Robinson has also received athlete of the week from both Metro Sports and KSHB-41.
Robinson was a man among boys on the court. Playing at a high level and shooting over 60 percent during district play, Robinson averaged 42 points a game. His output included a 48-point affair in a win against William Chrisman before putting up a 57-point classic performance against the Central High Blue Eagles.
